Fernando de Castro, MD, FAAD
Dr. Fernando de Castro received his medical degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He went on to complete an internship in internal medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and residency training in dermatology at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. de Castro also completed a fellowship in immunodermatology and a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Mayo Clinic. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, American Board of Dermatopathology, and the American Board of Clinical and Laboratory Dermatological Immunology. He joined DAK in 1995, and is the Director of the Dermatopathology Reference Laboratory at DAK and the Medical Director for the DAK Ambulatory Surgery Center. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the College of American Pathologists, and a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology, American Contact Dermatitis Society, and the National Psoriasis Foundation. Dr. de Castro is the former Chief of Dermatology at St. Joseph Hospital, and currently serves on the Voluntary Faculty at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
Dr. de Castro resides in Lexington with his wife and children.
